1940s maroon and grey dress in a midweight fabric with slight slub, possibly a rayon/linen blend, has nice drape. Bodice buttons down the front with covered buttons and has short sleeves. Skirt is a line and there is a side metal zipper. Bra securing straps are inside the shoulders along with small net sleeve headers. Nelly Don label. Very nice condition. Fabric and seams are excellent but there is some color variation to the maroon on the bodice as well as the waist area at back, see photos. Not very noticeable and does not detract. Was probably worn with a belt which would disguise the waist portion. Fits like a size small.
