1940s salmon cotton velvet dress with shirring along neckline and bodice.  Shoulders are padded and the 3/4 sleeves have elbow darts for shaping. The front is trimmed with bows encircled by cutwork metal (brass possibly?) rings with a floral motif.  Dress has a side metal zipper, A-line skirt and self waist to cinch. Very figure flattering design.

Very nice condition with some minor flaws.  There is a spot above the first bow (see photo) and one at the center seam of the skirt (last photo).  Because of the way the skirt falls, this spot isn't visible when worn.  I have not attempted to remove either one. There is some minor scaring to the velvet's pile, the worst of which is at the back of the bodice (see photo). I didn't spot any bald patches however.  Hem was let down at some point to it's maximum length so there is a fold line. Presents beautifully and the color seems to be quite even and fabric and seams sturdy.  Fits like an extra small, fabric has no stretch.
