1940s suit in a plum tinged burgundy. Suit looks less purple in person, it reads as more of a deep red with some purple in it. The photo showing the jacket off the form is a better representation of the true color (second to last photo). I believe the fabric content to be rayon or a wool/rayon blend. Jacket has padded shoulders, nipped waist with a curved front hem. Curved detailing with stitched arrows on peplum. Jacket is fully lined with bound buttonholes and original buttons. Skirt is slightly a-line and closes with a metal zipper and single button on the waistband.
Suit is in very good, wearable condition. There is some color variation but it looks deceivingly noticeable under the photo lighting. It's not really apparent under natural light or even regular indoor lighting. Also there were some shadows making the pieces look streaky. I actually didn't see any variation at all until I put the suit under the photo lighting. So to my eye, it's not much of an issue. Aside from that, there are a few pinholes (see final photo) but both pieces are sturdy and seems are in good shape as is the lining.
