1940 ivory rayon crepe dress from Marian Herrild Shop.  Bodice is surplice style with padded shoulders an cutwork and cording on the shoulder area.  Waist and top of hips are fitted and there is shirring on one side topped with a floppy knot.  Skirt is a line and dress closes with a side metal zipper and two covered buttons at the nape of the neck. The original belt is present although I left it off for most of the photos as it looks better without in my personal opinion.  This is partially due to the fact that it is dingy, but mostly because there is already enough going on around the waist and the bow detail, while cute, makes it look a little busy. Perhaps it was meant to fasten at the back instead.  The belt fastens with a wide hook and eye closure and simply slides on one side so you can adjust the length.

Dress is in good condition structurally but has staining/discoloration.  It is light so it's not super noticeable but is scattered throughout.  The worst is on the skirt, see final photo, but there is watermarked yellowing around the waist area as well.  Please zoom in on the photos for detail.  The dress has been cleaned (belt has not, hence the dinginess) but has not been treated specifically to remove staining so I cannot say whether or not this would out with peroxide or similar treatment.  Still a lovely dress that presents quite well, priced accordingly.
