1940s lightweight rayon dress by Jennifer Junior. Tag has a date written on it, April 4, 1946, which indicates it was worn for a special occasion, possibly a wedding. Bodice has padded shoulders, snap closure at the neckline and lots of detailing over the front. Skirt is softly a-line. There is a matching belt that snaps closed. It was near impossible to capture the true color of the fabric. It's not quite as vibrant a purple as most of the photos show but not faded like the close up photo either. I'd say it's closest to the 6th photo to my eye.

Dress is in nice condition with minor wear and color variation. The underarms have faint watermarking, belt is slightly lighter than the dress and there is a crease at the hem where it has been let down. Flaws aside, fabric is sturdy and dress presents beautifully.
