1930s rayon floral dress with trapunto trim that forms a stand collar and crosses beneath the shoulders. Shoulder seam is set in and sleeves are puffed. The waist seam sits high to create an elongating effect through the skirt, which is bias cut and trimmed with more trapunto at the hem.
This dress was used in a film and there were two alterations done to it: a back opening with snaps was added (possibly to take it in, not sure) and the side closure was replaced with hook and eye tape. The side closure is just fine but the back opening is slightly off center. It's actually not terribly noticeable and it's not displeasing either, see photo. There are a couple areas of discoloration, see final photos. They are also not readily noticeable. Otherwise the dress is in good condition with only minor wear but is priced accordingly.
